Little somethings

The brunette stood in front of the studio's gates. Right on time, her mother's Volvo purred into the sidewalk. Her mother was on the phone, as per se.

"Our stocks are... affects our profit... current economy crisis..."

Emily slid into an unoccupied seat, the floor and leather seats littered with papers, files, receipts...It seem as if a cyclone hit the interior of the car, an unsightly mess.

Her mother adjusted the rearview mirror, awkwardly, since her other hand's holding the phone steady.

"Yes, yes, I understand. Yes, will do. See you then."

Her mother finally slapped her phone shut, the click resounding loudly in the silent car.

She wonders if her mother will try making small talk.

So she did.

"So how's school?" her mother asked, eyes never leaving the road.

Emily shrugged. She answered moments later, "It's a stressing year...But I can handle it."

"Good, good." her mother frowned at the road, eyes crinkling at the corners. Curious herself, she leaned out. Uh oh, traffic conjestion.

Crappy work 'cause I'm very sleepy right now.
