Coward Syndrome

I'm diagnosed with this 'Coward Syndrome'.

I hadn't noticed; I was always walking away from whatever the feared object is. But having someone spell it out for you...I've finally realised how it felt.

Some things can be solved without running away - such as homework (The appeal of running away from homework is high, I know...but alas, we can't run forever.), or your parent's nagging(this is one important 'driving force' for my running away.)

But other things...

I feel that I should, I ought to, run and hide from taking Chinese Language. I find that it's beneficial for me. I can concentrate on my other 6 subjects, I can pass my CL more easily if I take the 'B' syllabus, there's a higher probabililty for me to get into a JC (and eventually, getting another subject to replace CL in JC).

But...

I'll still have to pay for CL B's O level exam when it won't even be counted. Isn't that a waste? Other than that, there's still the matter of my conscience.

As my dear, dear senior took the time out to preoccupy me with opinions and the like, what would happen after I get my O level results? If by looking at the paper, I find that I would be able to pass, yet I didn't take the chance? I know I'll surely regret that.

Furthermore, would my parents even agree to me taking CL B? I know my senior don't. But his reasons are sound, and his circumstances are somewhat different from mine. What of mine?

The question remains: Should I drop from Standard Chinese to Chinese Language 'B' syllabus?
